Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Equilux mobile app, our AI energy coach, our admin portal and this website (together, the "Services"). The Services are provided by EQUILUX AI PTE LTD, a company incorporated in Singapore ("Equilux", "we", "us").

By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility and accounts

  1. You must be at least 18 years old, and able to enter into a binding contract, to create an account.
  2. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  3. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
  4. You may sign in with email and password, or with Google or Apple. When you use Google or Apple, their terms also apply.

2. The Services

The Services let you:

  • monitor your home's energy use, solar generation and connected devices;
  • control supported devices, such as air-conditioners and EV chargers;
  • set up automation rules;
  • receive estimates, forecasts and insights;
  • ask questions of an AI energy coach.

Some features are offered as a beta or early-access program and may change, be limited or be withdrawn. We may update, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice of material changes.

The Services are currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid features, we will present the applicable prices and terms before you are charged.

3. Connecting your devices and provider accounts

  1. To use most features, you connect accounts you hold with third-party providers, such as SP Group, Huawei FusionSolar, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Tuya, Wallbox and Tesla ("Third-Party Providers").
  2. When you connect an account, you:
    • confirm that you are entitled to use it and the devices linked to it;
    • authorise us to sign in to it on your behalf;
    • authorise us to read data from it and to send the commands you or your automations request.
  3. Your relationship with each Third-Party Provider is governed by its own terms. You are responsible for making sure your use of the Services is consistent with those terms.
  4. We do not control Third-Party Providers. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, changes to their systems, or any decision they make to suspend or restrict access. Integrations may stop working without notice.
  5. You can disconnect a provider at any time in the app.

4. Device control and automations

  1. When you, a household member you have invited, or an automation rule you have set up sends a command, we pass it to the relevant Third-Party Provider. Commands include turning an air-conditioner on or off, changing its settings, and starting or stopping EV charging or changing the charging current.
  2. The AI energy coach will only carry out a device command after you confirm it in the chat.
  3. Automation rules run without asking for further confirmation each time. Please review your rules carefully.
  4. Commands depend on your devices, your internet connection and Third-Party Provider systems, so they may be delayed, fail or have unintended effects. You remain responsible for your home, devices and vehicle. Do not rely on the Services where failure could cause injury, property damage or risk to health, for example to cool a room for a vulnerable person or animal, or to guarantee a vehicle is charged when you need it.
  5. The Services do not replace a licensed electrician, the manufacturer's instructions, or safety devices. Installation and electrical work must be done by qualified persons.

5. Estimates, forecasts and AI outputs

  1. Bill estimates, savings figures, carbon estimates, tariffs, forecasts and other insights are estimates only. They are based on available data and simplifying assumptions, and may differ from your actual bills and results. Any savings figures, including those on our website, are illustrative and not guaranteed.
  2. The AI energy coach generates responses automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Check important information before acting on it. AI outputs are not professional financial, electrical, engineering or legal advice.
  3. Do not share sensitive personal information, such as NRIC numbers or payment details, in chat messages.

6. Household members

If you invite others to your home, they can view your home's data and control its devices. You are responsible for:

  • the people you invite, and their use of the Services;
  • having their permission to give us their name and email address.

You can remove members at any time.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Services unlawfully, or in a way that could harm others or damage property;
  • connect accounts or devices you are not authorised to use;
  • try to access another user's data, or to bypass security or usage limits;

  • use automated means to access the Services in a way that overloads them;
  • misuse the AI energy coach, including trying to make it produce harmful content or act outside its intended purpose;
  • resell or commercially exploit the Services without our written permission.

  3. Sections 5 and 8 to 14 survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Services after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. General
